Counselling and therapy for individuals in a safe, comfortable and private setting

I am a registered member of BACP and BABCP fully qualified and highly experienced Integrative Counsellor and CBT Psychotherapist. My professional and personal experiences in mental health have taught me that given the right support and conditions, individuals have the innate capacity for growth and healing.

As a postgrad, I was curious about archaeology, history, and travelling and I studied tourism and psychology. I worked in the leisure industry, and in micro-commerce and banking. I brought up a family with three children before gaining a qualification in information systems and eventually returning to work mentoring women with mental health issues.

I qualified as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor and a CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Therapist. I worked in the charity sector - The CASSEL Centre and MIND, offering counselling and CBT for several years before my work with the NHS offering CBT and Integrative Counselling to young people and adults from 2019. My later work at CAMHS includes ongoing consultations within a multidisciplinary team of professionals in the field.

Counselling

My Approach

I offer psychological therapy services providing a safe and confidential space where you can bring your difficult thoughts, interpersonal conflict and challenges you may be experiencing on a day to day basis.

As an integrative counsellor my approach is to draw from a variety of solutions and resources to help you address your unique and specific difficulties.

As a CBT therapist I will support you in identifying and making sense of the problem, clarifying your aims, and help you planning a route to work towards your desired goals. My personal experience of adversity, depression and anxiety makes me a highly empathic non-judgemental clinician. As my client you will benefit from a combination of highly acquired experience, skills, and up-to-date knowledge to facilitate you with the tools for self-growth and recovery.

Sessions and Fees

Sessions last 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis, and cost £45 per session. I also provide a limited number of spaces for those on low-income, students or pensioners; please contact me to enquiry about availability.

An initial assessment session may last up to two hours or run over two sessions. After the initial session, further sessions require pre-booking and payment where cancellations accepted 48 hours in advance. I accept payment in cash, by card or by bank transfer.
